Vanessa & Brian’s Perfectly rainy wedding day at Swope Memorial Park by jan

The rain held off until the moment Vanessa & Brian were announced as husband and wife…then a huge clap of thunder was followed by the hardest rain I have seen in a while. It was awesome. Like a voice of approval from above! The reception at the Hilton President Hotel was hyper elegant and the flowers by Blue Bouquet really blew me away. The whole day went smoothly thanks to Holly from Simple Elegance. Wedding planners are like angels!Congrats to you both!!

Abbey at 6 months by jan

Abbey was little miss crabby pants for her photo session but I took some cute shots when she let her guard down! Fun session, cute family!!!

Jen & Heath’s wedding at The Berg by jan

Jen & Heath met when she was a sophmore in high school…he was the older man (a few years seems huge at that age especially to parents) Heath has been graciously accepted into her family and her into his after many years of commitment to each other. They both really enjoyed the day which made our job even easier! There were so many cool details: Jen’s dress from Nolte’s was incredible. Erin Volante did a fantastic job with the flowers. Sarah Pryor from Cake Euphoria made some scrumptious cupcakes of various flavors and the food by Garozzo’s was really yummy! The tables were labeled with cities that they have traveled to with pics from their adventures scattered on the table – very unique touch. And the flavored popcorns were a sweet gift for their guests! I love that that Jen’s mom made her garter and clutch from her old wedding dress!! Sherrie & Nicole from Elegant Design Events kept the day running smoothly and the party was hopping thanks to Robert DeGeorge of D2 entertainment. We love shooting at the Berg Event Space; wonderful place for a wonderful day!!

Paula & Casey’s Club 1000 Wedding in Kansas City by jan

It was a fabulous wedding for Paula & Casey and a really fun party for all their friends and family. The ceremony and reception were both at The Club 1000. We hit the road for some bridal party shots and got in trouble for getting into the grass at the new Performing Arts Center. Now we know and will never do this again but we got an awesome shot off first! The food by Brancatos was yummy and The flowers by Maple Lane Designs used colors that took my breath away! Check out the grooms cake…it looked exactly like a bbq grill complete with frosting hotdogs and burgers! Sunset on the rooftop is always good for some romantic shots and the photobooth partypics were a big hit – we scored a chest bump from the bride and groom!! Fun party guys and perfect day! XOXO

Stephanie & Dion Unity Temple wedding & Studio Dan Meiner Reception by jan

Stephanie & Dion met on Bourbon Street on in 2009. Dion was there with a bachelor party and Stephanie had been in NOLA all week for work then stayed on for a bachelorette party. Dion proposed almost a year later. He was scheduled to take the last flight that night had secretly taken an earlier flight. When Stephanie got home from work, there were rose petals leading up to her bedroom. Dion was upstairs waiting with a ring and a speech that she didn’t hear a word of! Such a cute beginning to their story.
They two were teased with rain on the wedding day but the weather held out and it was truly a perfect day full of family, friends, good food and genuine happiness. Makeup by Scarlet was perfect as was the hair by Blo. The ceremony took place at Unity Temple on the Plaza and the reception at Studio Dan Meiners was gorgeous: comfortable and elegant all at the same time. Diane Boone with Arcadian Events always plans the day to be relaxed and fun. We love working with her! Loved the vintage looking beaded corsages for the mom’s!! The dance floor at the reception was hopping thanks to Elite sounds DJ Service and everyone enjoyed the partypics area. The father/daughter and mother/son dances took place while a slideshow of old photos of the bride and groom played. The brides toss-bouquet was made out of lottery tickets. Genious. Lovely day in every way!

Megan & Chris – Kansas City wedding photography by Marco

This was probably the most fun I had at a wedding. Probably because Megan and Chris are very easy going people or because their families are the sweetest and most giving people. Maybe because I shot it with the always overly energetic and charismatic Chuck Arlund or maybe because they were serving Fernet at the reception? Hard to tell. But here are some of our favorites form the day. Ceremony was at Visitation, flowers from the always impeccable Dan Meiners, also the reception was held at his studio. The coordination was orchestrated by Diane Boone.

Britt & Eric’s River Market Event Place Wedding by jan

This was a wedding on the edge! Style everywhere from her awesome pocketed dress to the vintage suitcase for cards and the cool, colorful seed tubes for their guests. The River Market Event Place is my new favorite place to shoot. All the garage door windows gave some beautiful light to a beautiful wedding. Congrats you two!! XOXO Can’t wait for you to come in to see the rest and see the stop action piece and the Photobooth pics!
