Michelle and Jason, fashion wedding and open spaces by MarcoThis was one of those weddings, you know, where everything just rolled in place and everybody just had a great time. It’s not like we didn’t have any hick-ups, but the relationships, friends, family, love, tears, food, hugs and strong hand shakes where above everything and nothing else really mattered. We often debate among photographers about the pure essence of wedding photojournalism a that we are invisible storytellers that observe from behind the scenes and don’t interact with anyone. Well, this time we totally failed our mission. Because we were dancing and laughing, crying and sharing stories and we felt part of it and they felt we were part of it as well. So what? Nothing, it’s just that now every time I see these pictures, I feel a little emotional. Is it that bad? Having said that, I do need to tell a little bit of the story of these people and why we ended up spending 3 days of celebration with them. Michelle and Jason are from LA (Jason is in the radio biz and she’s a celebrity photo producer) A lot of their friends from LA were able to join them (including Rachel Zoe and some very famous photographers to numerous to mention) The first night included a welcome dinner followed by a CRAZY evening at the pub.The second day gave everyone the “Kansas Experience”… Lots choices like skeet shooting, tractor riding, fishing etc. By the third day, we felt right at home! Michelle and her Dad arrived in horse and buggy. She was stunning. The hilltop out in the middle of friggin’ nowhere was a little piece of heaven that day. No expense was spared to make the guests feel comfortable and surrounded by beauty! We had a few moments after the ceremony to take some shots of them in the most incredible sunlight! The reception had an “over-the top” yet “down home” feel. Event coordination was impeccably and lusciously provided by Soiree Event Designs Megan did an awesome job, considering they had to shut down the whole main street!. Every kind of emotion was happening all around us! A nearby grain mill and old tractor begged us to shoot a cool portrait of these two very special people. At the end, we were happy and exausted.
